Me playing Roblox was really a product of my friends of school. I was in a group for a while, and we all attended the after school program. There, ever day around 3:30 I believe, anyone who wanted could go down to the computer lab to play games for about fifteen minutes if they wanted to. All of my friends did this, so I started signing up to go and going with them.
We all played different games until Christian, one of the members of our group, had a brother who played Roblox. His brother turned him onto it, and he turned Nick, another member, and myself, onto the game as well. It's funny because everyone didn't want to play it at first. Well, they did, but they did not, because if you were to play it just because Christian liked it, then you were considered a copycat- the worst shame in 4th grade. So for the first week or so (until it was alright to play in public), I tinkered with Roblox in secret and I'm sure everyone else did as well. Eventually it was fine for us to play as a group.
Unfortunately, the computers at our school were truly kind of sucky and we could not play online games. In the beginning, I just played Crossroads in 'solo mode' (as it was called then) messing around and blowing up buildings, taking the footsteps users normally take on the account they stick with.
All of this progress on Roblox took place with my very first account: Boobah. I had named it this because at the time, I was fascinated by the shows little kids watched. The Wiggles, Teletubbies, anything for a four year old (It made me feel smart). One of those shows was a weird, twisted thing with colorful monsters that looked like mutated pancakes. It was named 'Boobah.' Just popping into my mind at the time, I used it for my user name.
As it turns out, I never did much on boobah. It was the account I used for my baby stages of Roblox life, and I used another one for about six months after I abandoned boobah, and before I created Knexer.
I fell out of touch with boobah for a long time before suddenly remembering it last year, and spending an afternoon trying to get on by remembering my password. All that was left on my account was a poorly created game, a T-Shirt of a sample Windows image, and a couple hats that were easy to get.
He was my beginning, my first steps, but not my first words. Those come later, with a lot more stupid moments and shame. It had only begun for me, and to be honest, I'm glad I had a place to get my raw ignorance out in a way no one knew. I wish everyone could have that so they would never be embarrassed by stupid questions on an account they keep forever.
